About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapist Specialty: Respiratory Therapist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years post-A.A.S. degree clinical acute care experience required License: NYS license/registration as a Respiratory Therapist Certifications: A.A.S. in Respiratory Therapy Must-Have: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance. Description: The Respiratory Therapist will administer positive pressure and aerosol therapy to patients. They will institute and monitor oxygen therapy on patients. The role includes assisting physicians in instituting and maintaining continuous ventilation. Responsibilities also involve administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The therapist will perform pulmonary function tests. They will conduct radial arterial punctures. The individual should be able to perform the majority of patient care functions needed in the acute care setting with minimal orientation and supervision. Every other weekend is required, including holidays based on the weekend schedule. Candidates must have pediatric experience and must be located outside a 100-mile radius. The role cannot accommodate block scheduling or a set schedule.
