Heavy Capacity Forklift Operator Wanted

Location: Orange County, CA Position Type: Full-Time Compensation: $25 - $35 per hour + Overtime Opportunities

We are a growing steel fabrication and manufacturing company seeking an experienced Heavy Capacity Forklift Operator to support our fabrication, shipping, and yard operations. This position requires proven experience operating forklifts with lifting capacities exceeding 30,000 pounds and safely handling oversized steel materials, structural components, pipe, and fabricated assemblies.

• Safely operate forklifts ranging from 5,000 lbs. to 60,000+ lbs. capacity.
• Load and unload pipe from a sub-arc weld line, safely stack pipe, load and unload flatbed trailers.
• Transport large steel fabrications, pipe, plate, structural steel, and other oversized materials throughout the facility.
• Work closely with fabrication, welding, and shipping departments to stage materials and completed projects.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues.
• Follow rigging plans and work safely around cranes, trucks, and heavy equipment.
• Maintain accurate material locations and inventory.
• Assist with yard organization and material control.
• Comply with all OSHA, company, and customer safety requirements.

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy-capacity forklifts exceeding 25,000 lbs.
• Current forklift certification.
• Experience handling structural steel, heavy pipe, pressure vessels, or fabricated assemblies.
• Ability to read load charts and understand safe lifting practices.
• Knowledge of rigging, load securement, and material handling procedures.
• Strong attention to safety and situational awareness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

• Steel fabrication or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with forklifts in the 36,000 lb., 45,000 lb., or 60,000 lb. capacity range.
• Overhead crane and rigging experience.
• Loading oversized and over-dimensional shipments.
