Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and coordinate all phases of nursing care including planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating care for assigned patients.
• Deliver patient and family education and support transitions of care across the continuum.
• Delegate patient care tasks appropriately based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, and available resources.
• Provide leadership through preceptor roles, informal leadership activities, and participation in quality improvement efforts.
• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment and may participate on committees or projects.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; current Registered Nurse (RN) license meeting applicable state requirements.
• Associate degree RNs with an RN start date of April 1, 2020 or later must complete a baccalaureate degree in nursing within five (5) years from the last day of the month of their RN start date.
• Associate degree RNs with an RN start date prior to April 1, 2020 must meet baccalaureate degree requirements as stipulated by the program in place at time of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated critical thinking and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and on-call; ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Additional specialty certification or training relevant to the Operating Room setting.
