Medical Assistant (Pediatrics)

Gold Star Pediatrics is a growing, physician-owned pediatric practice dedicated to providing exceptional, compassionate care to infants, children, and adolescents. We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and compassionate Medical Assistant who enjoys working with children and families in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and families with warmth and professionalism.
• Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs.
• Document chief complaint, medications, allergies, and medical history in the electronic medical record (eClinicalWorks preferred).
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians and advanced practice providers during visits.
• Administer vaccines and medications under provider supervision.
• Perform CLIA-waived testing, specimen collection, hearing and vision screenings, and other pediatric clinical procedures.
• Maintain vaccine inventory and assist with Florida SHOTS/VFC documentation.
• Clean and stock examination rooms while following infection control standards.
• Provide patient and parent education as directed by the provider.
• Assist with telephone messages, prior authorizations, referrals, and other clinical support duties.
• Work collaboratively with providers and staff to deliver outstanding patient care. These duties reflect common pediatric MA responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent).
• Pediatric experience preferred, but motivated new graduates are welcome to apply.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Comfortable working with infants, children, and adolescents.
• Strong computer skills; eClinicalWorks experience is a plus.
