Endoscopy/Gastroenterology Technician

The Allied Level 1 Endoscopy/Gastrointestinal (Endo/GI) Technician is responsible for applying aseptic techniques to prepare and maintain equipment, assisting with procedures, and ensuring the integrity and proper reprocessing of endoscopes and accessories. This role includes performing preventive maintenance, equipment calibration, and ambulatory technician duties such as obtaining vital signs and patient transport. The position requires at least 2 years of experience, travel assignment experience, and a strong understanding of high-level disinfection protocols. Responsibilities:

• Apply principles of aseptic technique to equipment preparation and maintenance during procedures.
• Identify and address any compromise to sterile or high-level disinfected items throughout procedures.
• Disassemble, inspect, and perform preventive maintenance on procedure supplies and equipment.
• Perform pre-cleaning, inspection, leak testing, cleaning, and high-level disinfection of all endoscopes per regulatory standards.
• Follow established protocols for reprocessing and storing endoscopes and accessories.
• Determine appropriate high-level disinfection methods based on materials and manufacturer instructions.
• Check and calibrate equipment according to protocol.
• Perform ambulatory technician duties including obtaining and documenting vital signs and transporting patients.

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Travel assignment experience is required.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and high-level disinfection processes.

• High-Level Disinfection (HLD) certification is highly encouraged.

• Must be available for Monday through Friday day shifts and night call coverage.
• Travel experience is mandatory for this role.

• Work schedule is Monday through Friday during daytime hours with additional night call responsibilities as assigned.
