Mechanical AssemblyMechanical Assembly position available at a company in Quincy, IL. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire.Wage: $17.50 per hourHours: 6:00am-2:00pmMechanical Assembly Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Assemble components, parts, subassemblies, and finished products according to work instructions, blueprints, schematics, and bills of materials.Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and standard assembly equipment safely and effectively.Read, interpret, and follow assembly drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and basic blueprints.Perform both fine and gross motor tasks to accurately assemble products.Operate standard tools and equipment used to build products and monitor process control and product quality.Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure assembled products meet company specifications and quality standards.Identify and troubleshoot assembly issues and make appropriate adjustments to component placement, dimensions, or assembly processes.Complete required production reports, quality forms, and other documentation accurately.Maintain an adequate supply of materials, components, and supplies at the workstation.Assist with packaging, labeling, and staging finished products as needed.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, work instructions, and operational procedures.Work cooperatively with supervisors, quality personnel, and team members to meet production and quality goals.Mechanical Assembly Requirements:High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.Previous experience using hand tools required.Ability to read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and basic blueprints.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Reliable attendance and punctuality.Ability to work assigned shifts, overtime, or weekends as needed.Ability to stand for extended periods of 8–10 hours during a shift.Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and perform repetitive assembly tasks.Frequent use of hands and arms for assembly, tool operation, and material handling.Ability to climb ladders as required.Ability to regularly lift and move materials and components.Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.Visual ability to inspect assembled components, read blueprints and schematics, and identify defects or quality concerns.Ability to perform tasks requiring both fine and gross motor skills.Preferred Requirements:Previous mechanical assembly experience.Previous electrical assembly or manufacturing experience.Hand soldering experience.Basic measuring and troubleshooting skills.Experience with production documentation or inventory tracking.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.Positive attitude and strong work ethic.About us: QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
