the goal of the Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin VISTA Program is to build a better Wisconsin by assisting local organizations to increase the capacity and sustainability of programs focused on alleviating poverty. With passion, commitment, and hard work, our AmeriCorps VISTA members help organizations in bring individuals & communities out of poverty. Since 1993, Habitat for Humanity of Door County has built 50 homes and completed 155 home repair projects, impacting over 525 people. Door County Habitat for Humanity embraces the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique. These differences make us and our organization stronger. 1. OUTREACH & COMMUNICATIONS – Develop a communications plan to increase awareness and support for Habitat for Humanity. Update or create digital and print materials, like templates for social media posts and brochures for tabling and community events.
2. EVENTS/FUNDRAISING – Raise funds to support home builds, home repairs, and ramp installations. Research grant opportunities and donor prospects. Clean up the donor database and plan fundraising appeals.
