Assists the team in creating and maintaining logical and physical data models. The successful candidate will work with Full-stack Java applications on HHSC s cloud platform (Azure/AWS) within an Agile (Scrum) environment. The role will involve migrating data from Oracle applications to SQL schemas and loading it into collections. Additionally, the candidate will optimize database performance during and after migration, identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, and implement monitoring solutions to track database health and performance metrics. The DBA III works on activities including but not limited to database tuning, indexing, customization, transformation, data migrations/conversions, installations, troubleshooting, upgrades, patching, user management, security of data at rest and in motion, disaster recovery, clustering for high availability and load balancing, data backup, purging and archiving, implementation of database policies, data replication and backup to secondary sites like disaster recovery environments, procedures for the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of the sensitive and business-critical databases. The role will involve working closely with the team to create and maintain logical and physical data models, with a primary focus on Oracle and Azure Microsoft SQL. This role will require converting Oracle Stored Procedures and Functions to Azure SQL. Responsibilities Enters codes to create production database. Selects and enters codes of utility program to monitor database performance. Directs programmers and analysts to make changes to database management system. Reviews and corrects programs. Answers user questions. Confers with coworkers to determine impact of database changes. Modifies database programs to increase processing performance (performance tuning). Provides assistance in planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems. Evaluates users' requests for new data elements and systems. Coordinates the use of data to ensure data integrity and control redundancy. Performs data modeling and prototyping. Performs logical and physical data modeling. Designs relational database models. Creates physical data models from logical data models. Performs security recovery procedures. Determines and implements database search strategies and storage requirements. Maintains data dictionary. Monitors database performance and recommends efficiency improvements. Creates test database environments. Executes backup, restore, and recovery procedures. Assists with database software installation. Assists with benchmarking and threshold testing. Assists with database security implementation. Works with Full-stack Java applications on Azure/AWS. Migrates Oracle data to Azure SQL. Optimizes database performance. Implements monitoring solutions. Performs database tuning, indexing, customization, and transformation. Performs data migrations and conversions. Performs installations, troubleshooting, upgrades, and patching. Manages database users. Ensures security of data at rest and in motion.
