Clinical Psychologist (Mental Health)

Overview This position is located at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Fort Bliss, TX. Responsibilities Assess and provide intervention for individuals with a wide range of chronic medical conditions, and behavioral health issues affecting medical conditions to include assessment and disposition of beneficiaries with acute and chronic risk. Consult with primary care providers to select, approve, and document treatment priorities. Educate clinic staff on the principles of primary care behavioral health via trainings and briefings. Conduct outpatient group classes, stress management, relaxation training, assertive/social skills training, diabetes management, chronic pain, and brief related interventions. Assess acute mental and behavioral medicine conditions in beneficiaries. Provide individual and group treatment, using various evidence-based modalities to include problem focused interventions, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and psychoeducational classes. Develop, and implement, professional development activities, coordinates departmental training on PCBH related topics. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens. Basic Requirements for Clinical Psychologist (Behavioral Health): Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience including conducting biopsychosocial evaluations, providing individual and group therapy, and consulting with primary care and specialty clinic providers in a medical setting. License: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted independent Clinical Psychologist licensure from a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction. Preferred: One-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in Health Psychology. Education (Foreign): Foreign education must be evaluated and deemed equivalent to a U.S. accredited program. #J-18808-Ljbffr
