Hospitalist Physician - Pediatric Cardiology

Cover patients in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Stepdown Unit as first call provider. Engage in direct patient care activities including pre-rounding, rounding with Davison Service fellow and attending, day-to-day patient contact/rounding/care management, assessment, evaluation, diagnostic determination, on-going treatment and clinical management of pediatric cardiology patients, making referrals for consultation, ordering medications and therapeutic treatments when warranted, determining readiness and planning for discharge for inpatients, direct contact and consultation with patient family members, friends, advocates, and others to ensure effective communication of patient status and care plans, completing all clinical and professional records and documentation accurately and in a timely manner to assure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory, licensure and accreditation requirements, responding to codes/RRTs on heart center patients, and working to create a positive work culture within cross-departmental teams. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Job Eligibility Requirements include an MD or DO graduate from an accredited medical school program and completion of a Pediatric or Medical Pediatric Residency, a current and unrestricted medical license issued by NCMB, Federal and State DEA with unrestricted prescriptive authority, American Board of Pediatrics certification, PALs certification required, and none required experience. Familiarity with EPIC is preferred.

Job Hours are 12 hour shifts, day, night or weekend.
