Referral Coordinator

SSTAR is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) which affords our employees eligibility to apply for one of our three Loan Repayment Programs.

The Referral & Authorization Specialist is responsible for processing patient insurance referrals, prior authorizations relating to patient care which includes knowledge of insurance companies.

Duties & Responsibilities

Arrange outside medical appointments ordered by our providers.
The Referral & Authorization Specialist will verify insurance and complete prior authorizations
Liaison between Health Center and outside specialty offices.
Answering phone calls in the Referral Department
The Referral & Authorization Specialist will document all referral actions taken in the medical records
Other duties as required.

Hourly Pay Rate Range: $18-22/hour

Experience and Skills

High school diploma required.
Previous office experience required.
Proficient with computer systems.
Team Player, Respectful of others.
Data Entry and strong organizational skills.
Good communication skills.
Pleasant phone manner.
