Cnc mill machinist

Randstad is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our Overland Park team. If you enjoy hands-on work, taking pride in crafted metal components, and working in a steady, supportive manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you.

We manufacture high-quality standard and custom brass fittings for industries nationwide. In this role, you'll keep our milling operations running smoothly, ensuring every small brass fitting leaves our shop floor built to exact specifications.

salary: $24 - $26 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 7 AM - 3:30 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

• Machine Operation & Setup: Load raw brass bar stock or blanks into automatic/manual milling machines and dedicated secondary operation equipment; perform minor tooling changes and adjustments.
• Quality Assurance: Perform first-article and in-process visual/dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, pitch/thread gauges, plug gauges) to verify fittings meet tight tolerances.
• Blueprint Reading: Interpret mechanical drawings, job sheets, and process documentation to confirm correct geometry and threading specs.
• Maintenance & Cleanliness: Conduct routine preventive maintenance, manage coolant levels, clear brass chips, and maintain an organized workspace following 5S principles.
• Documentation: Accurate logging of daily scrap rates, part counts, cycle times, and operational logs on work orders or shop floor tracking software.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
