Senior Project Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead the technical delivery of complex engineering projects from concept through to completion. In this role, you will provide engineering direction, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and ensure that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule and within budget. You will work closely with project managers, clients, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues, manage interfaces and maintain strong communication throughout the project lifecycle.


Your responsibilities will include developing and reviewing engineering designs, specifications, calculations, scopes of work and technical documentation. You will coordinate design reviews, assess technical risks, monitor project progress and ensure that work complies with relevant legislation, industry standards, quality requirements and approved procedures. You will also support procurement and contractor management, review tenders and technical submissions, oversee site activities where required, and manage the resolution of non-conformances, design changes and engineering queries. Accurate reporting, maintaining project records and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives will also be important aspects of the role.


The successful candidate will hold a degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline and have substantial experience delivering engineering projects in a complex, regulated or industrial environment. Professional registration or chartered status is desirable, along with proven experience in project controls, risk management, contract administration and multidisciplinary coordination. You will be a confident technical decision-maker with strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders and managing competing priorities. A proactive approach, attention to detail and a commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental standards are essential. The role may involve occasional travel to project sites and collaboration with geographically dispersed teams.
