Location: Rocky Mount, VA

Core hours: M - F 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

Position Overview

Empire Bakery is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced food production environment. This role is responsible for overseeing production lines, ensuring safety and quality standards, and driving team performance and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader who fosters a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement while meeting production goals safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily production operations, team members, and assigned production lines
• Execute production schedules to meet output, efficiency, and inventory targets
• Coordinate staffing, workflow, and line setup for optimal performance
• Monitor equipment performance and resolve issues to minimize downtime
• Enforce safety, GMP, and food quality standards
• Train, coach, and develop employees and team leads
• Support onboarding and ongoing employee development
• Conduct performance evaluations and corrective actions as needed
• Partner with Quality to ensure consistent product quality and compliance
• Track key metrics (efficiency, waste, downtime, labor performance)
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Reduce waste and improve operational efficiency
• Communicate effectively across shifts and departments

Q ualifications

• High school diploma or GED required (Associate's or Bachelor's preferred)
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing
• Food or bakery production experience preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or KPI-driven environments preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Experience with RedZone or similar systems is a plus
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Capable of standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motion throughout shifts
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying conditions
