Job Title: RN - ER Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36-48 hours per week Experience: Preferred acute care facility experience License: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice required Certifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor required AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS required AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS required AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS required Must-Have: Experience with EPIC and Cerner Description: This role involves delivering coordinated nursing care to patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. The nurse supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff and coordinates care with other disciplines. Critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment are employed in this role. The nurse collects relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation. Assessment data is analyzed to determine diagnosis and care issues. A plan prescribing interventions to attain outcomes is developed. The nurse implements the care plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and safety. Progress toward attaining outcomes is evaluated. Identifying outcomes for patients and their situations is essential. Collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing safe and humane care is key. Learning opportunities for patients and family members are provided. Health information is directly communicated to patients, families, and treatment team members. Participation in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care is required. Appropriate delegation and coordination of healthcare team members are necessary. Other job-related duties may be assigned. Safety and wellbeing of associates and patients are prioritized. All associates must receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment.
