Location: Carteret Health Care Department: Cardiology Reports To: Director of Cardiovascular Services

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Cardiologist to join our cardiovascular team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in diagnosing and treating heart conditions using catheter-based techniques and will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional care to patients with a range of cardiovascular diseases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic and interventional procedures including coronary angiography, angioplasty, stent placement, TEE, and other catheter-based interventions.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients with coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and other cardiovascular conditions.
• Provide post-procedural care, including monitoring for complications and ensuring optimal recovery.
• Collaborate with other cardiology specialists, nurses, and support staff to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
• Stay current with the latest research, technologies, and best practices in interventional cardiology.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to medical students and other healthcare professionals.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care.

Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Cardiovascular Disease.
• Fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology.
• Valid medical license in North Carolina.
• Proven expertise in performing a wide range of interventional cardiology procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a high standard of patient care.
• Commitment to continuing education and professional development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in complex coronary interventions, structural heart disease procedures, and peripheral interventions.
• Research background or interest in advancing the field of interventional cardiology.
