Registered Nurse (RN) - 3x12 Day Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day shift, 3x12 hours.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is adhered to. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, while embracing the core values of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify patient teaching needs and goals through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, prioritizing education based on identified health care needs.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status between care providers to ensure continuity and safety.
• Direct, train, and supervise ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in line with hospital policies.
• Foster a positive work environment by contributing to teamwork and unit functioning.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, and clinical training.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested, while promoting cost-effective care.
• Pursue professional growth and development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
