Trusts & Estates Attorney – Estate Planning & Probate

Location: Southfield, MI

Type: Full-Time, Onsite

Salary Range: Competitive base + bonus (dependent on experience + portable book)

A well-established and highly respected law firm is seeking a Trusts & Estates Attorney to join its Southfield office. This role is ideal for an experienced attorney with a strong background in estate planning and probate who brings an existing book of business and is looking to grow within a collaborative, client-focused environment.

This position offers the opportunity to work with high-net-worth individuals and families, providing strategic planning and advisory services across a wide range of estate matters.

What You’ll Do

• Advise clients on estate planning strategies, including wills, trusts, and wealth transfer

• Handle probate and estate administration matters from start to finish

• Develop and maintain strong client relationships

• Grow and manage an existing book of business

• Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups on complex matters

• Provide guidance on tax-efficient estate planning strategies

What You Bring

• 6+ years of experience in trusts & estates / estate planning

• Strong background in probate and estate administration

• Portable book of business required (approximately 85% expected to transition)

• Excellent client relationship and business development skills

• Licensed in Michigan (or ability to obtain)

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters
