Mortgage Loan Originator

Originate mortgage loans in an assigned metropolitan territory Take mortgage loan applications Conduct preliminary underwriting reviews Submit loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval Follow up to ensure documents required for processing, underwriting, and closing are secured from appropriate sources in a timely manner Make and solicit loan sales Conduct sales-related activities away from U.S. Bank locations Drive two or more hours per week Work onsite at least three days per week when located near a U.S. Bank location Requirements National Mortgage Licensing Service (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z and ongoing compliance with all legal or regulatory registration requirements Maintaining a satisfactory criminal and credit record High school diploma or equivalent One or more years of mortgage, sales, real estate, or banking experience Ability to travel Basic knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage insurance companies Working knowledge of underwriting requirements for FNMA,

, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors Basic knowledge of local, state and national laws, including zoning ordinances, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, and energy audit requirements Ability to work independently Ability to analyze financial information Effective verbal and written communication skills Established referral base within assigned market preferred Two years of mortgage loan origination experience with proven results Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in mortgage loan origination, underwriting processes, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
