About the Position

Job Title: RN Telemetry I Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12.5 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Ability to monitor patient hemodynamic status and recognize life-threatening complications Description: The Telemetry Nurse provides care to patients with critical or life-threatening illnesses. The Telemetry Nurse monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms. The Telemetry Nurse administers prescribed cardiac medications and telemetry-approved drips. The Telemetry Nurse is expected to recognize and assist patients in shock or those with other life-threatening complications. The Telemetry Nurse assists with emergency and elective cardioversion procedures as well as the insertion of temporary pacemakers. The Telemetry Nurse interacts with a variety of age groups, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The Telemetry Nurse collaborates on an interdisciplinary level. The Telemetry Nurse must effectively interact at appropriate intellectual and physical ability levels. May be required to float to other units based on hospital needs. If floated to an area outside of skill set, the nurse will provide assistance only.
