Responsibilities The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is responsible for the overall mental assessment and treatment of consumers in conjunction with team members on an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. See individuals for assessment and treatment of mental health symptoms, medication response, and side effects. Provide clinical supervision and oversight of psychiatric services delivered by the NP or PA. Collaborate with the team leader to share overall clinical responsibility for monitoring treatment and providing supervision. Work with nurses to develop and implement medication administration policies and procedures, overseeing medical care, regular screenings, and wellness assessments. Educate non‑medical team members on psychiatric and non‑psychiatric medications, side effects, and health‑related conditions. Provide psychiatric backup for the program after‑hours and weekends (rotating basis with other care providers). Conduct psychiatric evaluations and provide consultations to medical and mental health providers. Education and Experience Required Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) in North Carolina or licensed Physician Assistant (PA) in North Carolina. Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and organizational skills. High level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Education and Experience Preferred At least 3 years of experience in clinical services, primary and behavioral health care integration, organizational change processes, consultation, and training development/implementation. Experience treating individuals with Severe Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI).
