Security Officer

Primary City/State: Osborn Medical Center - 7400 E Osborn Rd Scottsdale, AZ 85251 Category: Safety and Security Shift: Night Department: Security Job Summary The Security Officer patrols designated HonorHealth properties, screens visitors, and performs other activities related to the safety and security of staff, patients, and visitors. Responsibilities include protecting property, ensuring safety protocols, and responding to alarms and incidents. The Officer may also restrain patients and assist law enforcement. Responsibilities Patrol assigned areas, checking for suspicious activity or safety/fire hazards. Investigate and report hazards, unusual or suspicious circumstances to leadership. Check doors and windows to ensure they are locked; note any unlocked doors and submit information to supervisors. Escort people or property when safety or monetary concerns exist. Respond to alarms and dispatched calls and take appropriate actions. Unlock buildings/doors after verifying identification and compliance with policies. Enforce organizational policies such as parking, smoking, badge compliance. Provide training to staff as needed. Act as first responder to disturbances or emergencies (infant abduction, fire, panic, intruder alarms, restraint calls). Maintain order and safety during emergencies, including rapid stair climbing, running/sprinting, moving heavy equipment. Subdue resisting or aggressive individuals and apply restraint equipment when authorized. Assist law enforcement officers, security leadership with protection details, crowd control, and surveillance at large public events. Assist with mass casualty events, including setting up decontamination equipment. Investigate and document incidents; maintain a daily log of activities. Complete required training and annual in‑services; participate in security department training and continuing education. Represent HonorHealth as a brand ambassador; greet patients, visitors, vendors, and staff with a smile. Assist guests and collaborate with community partners. Education High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's or equivalent from a recognized college or trade school preferred. Experience One year of successful experience in law enforcement or security in a healthcare setting preferred but not required. License and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 2 months of hire. Driver's License required. Taser Certification within 90 days of hire by HonorHealth Public Safety/Certified Taser Instructor. International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety Supervisor (IAHSS) certification preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
