SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Director of Pharmacy, the Staff Pharmacist is responsible for reviewing and verifying physician orders, accurately dispensing medications, providing timely and accurate drug information and performing well‑reasoned and appropriate clinical interventions to optimize patient medication therapy.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education : Graduate of accredited school of Pharmacy; Bachelor Degree of Pharmacy or Pharm D. Experience : One year hospital experience preferred; recent pharmacy graduate considered. Certifications : Current Arkansas Pharmacist license in good standing or eligibility to obtain within 90 days of hire. Other : Proven communication skills, attentive to detail, strong interpersonal skills, fosters a team environment, ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment, and trained in general use of pharmacy computer systems.

SAFETY SENSITIVE DESIGNATION

This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must have ability to communicate effectively, solve problems, stand, walk, and sit for long periods (4–8 h per shift), occasionally bend, stoop, squat, kneel, lift up to 20 lb, use hands repeatedly (IV preparation, computer keyboard), visual and hearing acuity, handle stressful situations, operate equipment, work interruptibly, maintain alertness, and concentrate for long periods.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Hospital environment: Emergency Department, Patient Care Units, Patient Rooms, Pharmacy. Potential exposure to hazardous or toxic substances (e.g., chemotherapeutic and/or cytotoxic drugs and cleaning solutions).

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
