Title Music/Recreation Therapist – Piedmont Geriatric Hospital Position Information State Role Title: Therapy Assistant/Therapist I Hiring Range: $52,711 - $80,741 Pay Band: 3 Agency: Dept Behavioral Health/Development Location: Piedmont Geriatric Hospital Agency Website: Recruitment Type: General Public Job Duties Knowledge of principles of assessment and ability to modify treatment approaches based on patients’ response to interventions Ability to prepare written treatment plans with objectives and interventions Ability to conduct group and individual interventions Knowledge of the dynamics and processes of a therapeutic relationship and of group therapy Ability to provide therapeutic experiences that assist the patient to utilize and enhance their strengths, improve coping skills, and foster hope Effective written and oral communication skills Knowledge of professional standards of clinical documentation Knowledge of professional code of ethics and the hospital’s ethical standards Ability to interact with others in a manner that respects diversity and differences including but not limited to culture, gender, sexual orientation, and spiritual/religious practices Minimum Qualifications Degree in Music/Recreation Therapy from an accredited college or university Current professional certification/licensure or eligible within 6 months Experience working in a clinical setting Experience working with older adults and/or individuals with mental health issues Additional Considerations Prior experience in a hospital setting Benefits Piedmont Geriatric Hospital offers a comprehensive benefits package, including choice of health plans, paid life insurance, retirement plans, 13 paid holidays, annual leave, family personal leave, sick leave, employee discount programs, and more.
