This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that's constantly evolving.Position SummaryThe Assistant Bakery Manager supports the Bakery Manager in overseeing daily department operations, driving sales, maintaining product quality, and delivering excellent customer service. This position helps ensure the bakery operates efficiently, remains fully stocked with fresh products, and meets all company, food safety, and regulatory standards. The Assistant Bakery Manager also plays a key role in training associates, managing inventory, and leading the department in the Bakery Manager's absence.Key Responsibilities Department OperationsAssist with the daily operation of the bakery department.Ensure all bakery products are properly prepared, displayed, labeled, and merchandised.Maintain department appearance, cleanliness, and organization.Monitor production levels to meet customer demand while minimizing shrink.Support execution of sales plans, promotions, and merchandising programs.Customer ServiceProvide outstanding customer service and create a welcoming shopping experience.Assist customers with product questions, special orders, and recommendations.Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.Promote bakery products and suggest additional purchases when appropriate.Leadership & Team DevelopmentAssist with training, coaching, and developing bakery associates.Support scheduling and daily work assignments.Monitor employee performance and provide feedback to improve productivity and service levels.Lead by example through professionalism, teamwork, and adherence to company standards.Oversee department operations in the Bakery Manager's absence.Inventory & Financial PerformanceAssist with inventory management, ordering, and stock replenishment.Help control labor, supplies, and shrink expenses.Monitor product rotation and freshness standards.Support department sales growth and profitability goals.Food Safety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.Follow company policies regarding product handling, storage, and preparation.Maintain a safe working environment for associates and customers.Ensure proper use and maintenance of bakery equipment.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous bakery, food service, or retail supervisory experience preferred.Strong customer service and leadership skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.Effective communication and organizational skills.Basic math and computer skills.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand movements.Ability to work in refrigerated areas and around bakery equipment.Key Success FactorsStrong leadership and team development skills.Commitment to customer satisfaction.Attention to detail and product quality.Ability to manage priorities and meet department goals.Focus on food safety, compliance, and operational excellence.We also provide a variety of benefits including:Competitive wages paid weeklyAccess to up to 50% of your earned wages before payday, via our partnership with StreamAssociate discountsHealth and financial well-being benefits for eligible associates (Medical, Dental, 401k and more!)Time off (vacation, holidays, sick pay).
