English Teacher (6 - 12) OR ELA Teacher 4-8 Kennesaw

Position Overview Seeking Full-Time Certified English Teacher for 2026-2027 Eligibility and Teaching Focus ELA grades 4-8 or certificate in English 6-12. Compensation Starting Salary: $59,149/year + Additional Compensation for higher certification levels. Schedule M-F 8-5pm. Initial new hire paid training: 2 weeks M-F, 8:30a - 5:30p in Kennesaw, GA. Post training: School located in Lawrenceville, M-F 8-5p. Location and Setting Devereux Georgia provides intensive residential treatment in a secure setting for youth, age 10-21. Campus includes swimming pool, volleyball court, tennis court, playing field, lake and playground for outdoor activities. Teaching Environment Within the secure treatment setting, teachers work with an on-campus, K-12 accredited school (Ackerman Academy). Individualized curriculum and low teacher-to-student ratio. Teachers follow a modified district calendar, including additional days during Fall and Winter Breaks, and 15 days May/June for Summer Enrichment. Inclement weather policies apply. Roles and Responsibilities Collaborate with dedicated education professionals. Teach individualized curriculum with greater autonomy and flexibility. Maintain classrooms equipped with Interactive Boards and educational supplies. Work with direct support professionals to maintain students' physical, emotional well-being and safety. Support unique programs (art therapy, animal care therapy, yoga, drama, life-skills). Qualifications 21 years old or older. Valid Driver's License. Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred). Georgia Teaching certification: Social Studies 6-12; Special Education Teaching Certification SPED preferred. Two years teaching experience preferred.
