Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Travel Nurse Position

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Travel Radius: 100-mile radius rule applies

Required Qualifications

• Current New York State RN license.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Previous MEDITECH EMR experience required.
• Ability to recognize and intervene in life-threatening situations.
• Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Critical care experience.
• Previous charge nurse experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients' clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual needs.
• Provide quality nursing care and respond effectively to emergency and life-threatening situations.
• Identify safety risks to patients and staff and use appropriate patient-lifting techniques and equipment.
• Function effectively in high-pressure situations using sound clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation abilities.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities when required.
• Maintain excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Additional Requirements

• Successfully complete a lethal dysrhythmia examination during the probationary period.
• Obtain defibrillation certification within six months of employment.
• Complete IV, medication, and phlebotomy certifications during orientation.
