Team Leader

Team Leader Pay Range: $15.1 - $18.2 hourly Overall Job Summary The Team Leader assists the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with operational, sales, and merchandising objectives by delivering a Legendary Customer Experience. They promote a safe and productive work environment and train Team Members on applicable policies and procedures. Responsibilities Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, nights, weekends, and overtime as dictated by business needs. Uphold and enforce work environment safety policies. Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA: Greet the customer. Uncover customer needs & wants. Recommend product solutions. Ask to add value & appreciate the customer. Perform a combination of duties during 95 % of the day, including: Basic, promotional, and seasonal merchandising activities. Opening/Closing procedures. Bank deposit transport. Assess store conditions, assign duties, and organize workflow using the daily planner. Recovery of merchandise. Participate in mandatory freight process. Perform regular and promotional price change activities. Resolve customer complaints and ensure an exceptional shopping experience. Adhere to loss prevention standards and respond to alarm calls. Communicate with Team Members on job functions, responsibilities and financial goals. Operate cash register/computer and supervise cash handling procedures. Assist Team Members with policies and procedures application. Ensure safety and well‑being of poultry, sanitize holding tanks, and care for birds as required. Operate forklift and baler. Complete all associated documentation. Obtain required licenses or certifications. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Retail experience and/or knowledge of farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding (strongly preferred). Supervisor experience preferred. Minimum age 18 and must possess a valid driver's license. High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. Must be able to read, write, and count accurately. Preferred Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Basic computer skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically with minimal conflict. Ability to perform core responsibilities of Team Members. Working Conditions Indoor work with moderate noise, usually inside the store with occasional outdoor lot duties. Shifts typically ≥4 hours, may exceed 8 hours. Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions as needed. Hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt) with adequate lighting and temperature. Need to promote a safe, productive environment for Team Members and customers. Physical Requirements Move merchandise weighing up to 50 lb. Push/pull up to 2,000 lb with material handling equipment. Occasional lifts or reaches overhead. Frequent standing, kneeling, twisting, crouching, squatting, and climbing ladders. Move throughout the store entire shift. Access all areas of the store, including selling floor, side lot, stock, and register areas. Operate and use all equipment required (dolly, hand truck, forklift, baler, computer, cash register). Forklift and baler not required for Constantly operate store equipment such as computer and cash register. Read, write, and count accurately for documentation. Strong verbal communication to interact with team members and customers. Process information/merchandise through the POS system. Handle contact with birds/poultry. Complete training and certification to dispense propane (applicable if ≥18). Complete all mandatory training. Travel as required for district needs. Drive/operate vehicle for business needs. Position is non‑sedentary.
