Medical Assistant Certified - TGMG Babcock Ranch

Under general supervision of the department manager, medical staff, nursing staff, and Sr Medical Assistant/Lead Medical Assistant, the Certified Medical Assistant follows policies, procedures, and professional guidelines. The Certified Medical Assistant provides clinical and clerical support such as patient rooming in addition to assistance with medical procedures, cleaning of equipment, chart preparation, obtaining referral notes, images and lab results prior to patient visits.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for pre-visit preparation and schedule appointments.
• Ability to efficiently verify insurance eligibility and identify services that require insurance authorization.
• Perform clerical duties, including chart preparation and ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Utilize electronic health record systems proficiently for accurate documentation and retrieval of patient information, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and organizational policies.
• Provide clinical support as needed, including but not limited to wound care, specimen collection, and administering medications under the direction of healthcare providers.
• Escort patients to examination rooms, obtain vital signs, and prepare patients for their appointments in accordance with established protocols.

This role supports our TGMG Babcock Ranch clinic in the Fort Myers area.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Certification: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant or MA-ARMA
• Basic Life Support
• Work Experience: Minimum of three (3) months in a healthcare setting
• Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic clinical procedures.
• Skill in drawing blood for laboratory testing and ensuring proper specimen handling
• Competency in using electronic health record systems for accurate documentation and retrieval of patient information
• Proficient in performing clinical tasks, including patient rooming, and ensuring proper cleaning and maintenance of medical equipment.
• Demonstrates the ability to prepare for and assist with medical procedures.
• Demonstrates the ability to perform various clerical duties essential to the operations of the practice, including but not limited to, answering phones professionally, greeting patients, filing, faxing and scanning of documents.
