Associate Attorney - General Liability

Position Overview Lydecker is seeking an associate attorney with 3+ years of experience. This is a hybrid position, located in our Miami office. The applicant should be admitted to practice in FL. Under the supervision of a partner, the associate will handle a variety of cases, including the defense of premises liability, personal injury, and general liability. Location Miami – Hybrid Practice Group General Liability Job Requirements FL bar license in good standing. J.D. from an ABA‑approved law school. Minimum 3 years of civil defense litigation experience, preferably in general liability, bodily injury, premises liability, products liability, or construction defect litigation. Experience working on up to 15+ cases simultaneously, attending and defending depositions, taking depositions, appearing in court, and drafting motions and discovery; mediation and trial experience is a plus but not required. Basic computer skills, including internet, spreadsheet, and word‑processing software; preference for Microsoft products and ability to operate office equipment. Self‑motivated, self‑starter who works well independently and possesses strong client communication skills. Oral communication: speaks clearly and persuasively, listens and clarifies, responds to questions, and participates in meetings when required. Written communication: writes clearly and informatively, edits for spelling and grammar, varies style to meet needs, presents numerical data effectively, and reads and interprets written information. Temperament: works with little supervision, prioritizes and anticipates work needs, and handles occasional periods of pressure and short deadlines. Ethics: keeps client and firm information confidential and applies general rules of ethical behavior applicable to lawyers. Job Responsibilities Billable work: Must be willing and able to bill. Draft, review, and respond to petitions/complaints, motions, and written discovery. Attend hearings and meetings with clients as requested. Prepare for and attend depositions.
