License: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)

Certifications: BLS

Must-Have: ARDMS or ARRT (S) registry

Description: Performs a variety of technical procedures utilizing diagnostic ultrasound equipment. Accurately performs various technical procedures efficiently utilizing ultrasonic machinery for the diagnosis of disease. Positions, transfers, and immobilizes patients as necessary to perform diagnostic procedures. Adjusts machinery and ancillary equipment parameters in accordance with prescribed procedures to obtain diagnostic medical/legal ultrasound images. Assists in equipment calibration to maintain department standards. Understands and performs high level probe disinfection. Schedules exams and maintains department records. Assists in quality control programs for the maintenance of prescribed standards. Exercises independent judgment in planning sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Collaborates with internal and external customers. Engages with other healthcare professionals and staff. Interacts frequently with individuals at director level or above. Available for emergency callback.
