Job Description
Registered Nurse - PCU Float

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00). Must be flexible with scheduling; no schedule requests can be accommodated. Every other weekend required.

Assignment Details

This position is part of a float pool and involves working throughout the hospital, including but not limited to the Emergency Department, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Stepdown/PCU units. The maximum patient ratio is 1:7 in Medical Surgical. Compliance required for timely start; delays may push back orientation by up to 2 weeks.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid nursing license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted.
• Ability to float to various units as needed.
• Compliance with facility requirements is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and support across multiple units within the hospital.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions while ensuring safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members for efficient patient management.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
• Document patient progress and communicate any changes to the medical team.

Compliance / Notes

Travelers are expected to work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period. If one major holiday occurs, the traveler must work it. If two holidays occur, both must be worked; three holidays necessitate working two. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day.
