Schedule:

• Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM

• Friday: 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM
  

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist (PT) to provide high-quality physical therapy services to children with developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) .

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with ASD , strong clinical and communication skills, and the ability to develop individualized treatment plans that support each child's developmental and functional goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and assessments for pediatric patients.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on each child's developmental, physical, and functional needs.

• Provide therapeutic interventions to improve gross motor skills, strength, balance, coordination, mobility, and functional independence .

• Provide physical therapy services to children with ASD and other developmental disabilities .

• Incorporate age-appropriate and play-based activities into therapy sessions.

• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, progress, and outcomes.

• Collaborate with occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, teachers, behavioral professionals, and other healthcare professionals .

• Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals regarding patient progress.

• Educate families and caregivers on exercises, positioning, mobility, and strategies to support development.

• Participate in team meetings and contribute to coordinated care planning.

• Follow applicable clinical, safety, documentation, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Physical Therapy or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.

• Active New York State Physical Therapist license.

• 2+ years of professional Physical Therapy experience preferred.

• Previous pediatric Physical Therapy experience preferred.

• Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) .

• Strong understanding of pediatric development and gross motor skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to build positive relationships with children and families.

• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Comfortable working in a school-based pediatric environment .

• Ability to adapt treatment approaches to meet individual children's needs.
