This hospital-based laboratory provides comprehensive pathology services within an inpatient setting on Long Island, NY. The facility maintains established protocols for specimen processing and diagnostic workflow management to support timely and accurate reporting. Support staff includes 2 lab aides and supervising pathologists.

About the Clinician's WorkdayThe pathology assistant will perform grossing procedures and frozen section examinations for a daily case volume of 20-45 specimens, consisting primarily of biopsies (60-70%), routine cases, and select large specimens including breast and colon cases. Responsibilities include specimen preparation and processing to support pathologist interpretation within a hospital-based laboratory setting. The clinician will work on-site during day shift hours with no call requirements. Board certification in pathology assistant is required for consideration.
