Neurosurgery Physician Assistant - Night Shift Location: Englewood, NJ, US Experience: Mid Level Salary: $185,000 - $200,000 per year Job Description This full‑time position involves three 12‑hour night shifts per week (6 pm–6 am) in the Englewood Hospital, Bergen County area. Duties include inpatient consults, management of surgical patients in the pre‑operative/peri‑operative period, responding to acute stroke calls/consults, and surgical first‑assist as needed. Job Responsibilities Evaluate inpatient consults and round on hospital patients as requested by the group’s surgeons. Independently assess patients and order appropriate labs, radiology tests, and consults. Perform history & physicals; write pre‑ and post‑operative orders for the surgeon. Possess excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, creative problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills. Prescribe medications according to New Jersey State law, including controlled substances with DEA authorization. Maintain board certification and the annual CME requirement for re‑appointment and privileging. Maintain current expertise in the area of practice. Promote own professional growth and development in clinical role. Work collaboratively with attending physicians & PA team to maintain timely and appropriate communication. Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement the therapeutic plan of care for requesting attending surgeons. Assist in surgical cases as needed. Minimum Qualifications / Requirements Minimum of two years experience working as a Neurosurgery Physician Assistant. Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. New Jersey Physician Assistant License. New Jersey DEA License. New Jersey CDS License. ACLS, BLS certification. Schedule Night shifts (3 per week). May include weekends/holidays.
