Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor for Culturally Diverse Outpatient Psychiatry

Position Overview Lighthouse Psychiatry Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. In this role, you will provide vital mental health services to a diverse population, utilizing your skills to conduct assessments, create treatment plans, and deliver therapeutic interventions. Work Environment This position is classified as full-time and operates in a remote setting, allowing for flexibility while still maintaining the collaborative spirit of our outpatient office. Our work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the possibility of some flexibility to ensure we accommodate the unique needs of our patients. You will have the support of a diverse team of professionals dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health care. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough, culturally sensitive mental health assessments that consider each patient's unique experiences and circumstances to inform treatment planning. Develop and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to the cultural and individual backgrounds of patients, ensuring effective care delivery. Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions that address a variety of mental health concerns, promoting resilience and personal growth among clients. Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other allied health professionals to deliver coordinated and comprehensive care for patients. Provide immediate crisis intervention support during mental health emergencies, demonstrating quick, sound judgment to ensure patient safety and stability. Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, viable treatment options, and available community resources to empower them in their recovery journeys. Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential records in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards. Engage actively in case conferences and team meetings, and participate in cultural competency training sessions to enhance service delivery. Stay current with the latest research, best practices and cultural considerations in mental health therapy to ensure the highest quality of care. Patient Population / Client Focus Your work will focus on an eclectic and diverse clientele, predominantly consisting of individuals from various ethnic backgrounds, including but not limited to, Hispanic, African American, Asian, and LGBTQ+ individuals. Many clients may face hardships associated with immigration, identity crises, and social stigma. Our practice is designed to provide a supportive environment where they can express their concerns and work towards mental wellness. Qualifications A valid license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LCPC, LMFT, LCSW) in the state of California. A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, or a related field. Demonstrated commitment to cultural competence and sensitivity in mental health service delivery. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration within our multidisciplinary team. Preferred Experience Experience working in outpatient clinical settings providing therapy to individuals from multicultural backgrounds. Familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities and best practices in mental health counseling. Previous experience with crisis intervention and mental health emergency services. Involvement in community outreach and education activities related to mental health awareness. Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
