Phlebotomist III - Floater

Phlebotomy Position

Pay Range: $17.55hr - $22.55hr

Requirement/Must Have:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
• Five years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
• Minimum 3 years in a PSC/IOP environment preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Must be capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
• Ability to provide coverage at multiple locations for multiple roles.
• Must be flexible with hours and available for possible Saturdays.

Responsibilities:

• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
• Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner.
• Ensure that daily activities of the Patient Service Center/Mobile/Long Term Care/In-Office Phlebotomy are completed accurately and on time.
• Demonstrate Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy to patient information.
• Direct daily activity in a doctors office, a patient service center, in a house call environment, or long term care as business needs dictate.
• Lead one or more staff members on site.
• Act as a coach, mentor, instructor, and resource advisor for new employees.
• Provide effective onboarding services to new clients.
• Act as point of contact to staff on site and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor.
• Work with customers who have a high complexity and/or volume practice with a specialized focus requiring outstanding phlebotomy skills.
• Collaborate with multiple functions, such as Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT connectivity, Billing, and Logistics.
