BrightStar Care Gainesville is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide 1:1 private duty nursing to a medically complex pediatric patient in their Gainesville home. If you have been doing pediatric nursing in a hospital and you want one patient, a predictable schedule, and the clinical autonomy to practice the way you were trained — this role is worth reading.

$32/hour is constrained by Florida Medicaid PDN reimbursement rates. What we offer that a hospital does not: one patient per shift, no rotating assignments, no short-staffing, and a child who will know your name for years.

– Mon–Thurs: 6:30 PM – 11:30 PM
– Mon–Friday: 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM
– Friday, Sat & Sun: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
– Friday, Sat & Sun: 3:00 PM – 11:00 AM
– Sat & Sun: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
– Mon–Sunday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
– Mon–Sunday: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Responsibilities

• What You Will Do
  • Provide 1:1 skilled nursing to a medically complex pediatric patient — conditions include trach/vent dependency, G-tube feeding, seizure disorders, and chronic respiratory disease
  • Assess, monitor, manage equipment, administer medications, and respond to changes in condition — independently, in the family's home
  • Follow and contribute to a physician-ordered plan of care
  • Complete shift documentation and communicate with case manager and supervising team

Required Skills

• Must have:
  • Active Florida RN license (or compact license valid in FL)
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience
  • Valid Florida driver's license and auto insurance
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe
• Preferred — training provided for the right candidate:
  • Pediatric, NICU, or PICU experience
  • Trach, ventilator, or G-tube experience
  • BSN (associate degree RNs considered)
