Role Description The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is a full-time, on-site role based in Valley Park, MO. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to carry out treatment plans, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility training. Daily tasks include assisting with patient evaluations, implementing interventions, monitoring patient progress, and documenting care in accordance with regulatory and facility standards. The PTA will educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques, while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to support effective discharge planning and continuity of care. The role involves maintaining a safe, clean treatment environment and participating in team meetings and quality improvement activities. Qualifications Current licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Missouri, or eligibility to obtain licensure. Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Demonstrated skills in therapeutic exercise instruction, gait and balance training, and functional mobility assistance. Ability to accurately document treatments, progress notes, and patient responses in electronic or paper medical records. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with patients, families, and an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Capacity to lift, transfer, and position patients safely, with understanding of proper body mechanics and safety procedures. Organizational and time management skills to manage a caseload and prioritize patient care needs. CPR certification and familiarity with infection control and standard clinical protocols.
