Primary Responsibilities The primary duties include being an integral part of the area Traffic and Planning team as a technical resource on a variety of traffic design projects. Design assignments may include preparing signing, pavement marking, signal, lighting, temporary traffic control, and intelligent transportation system (ITS) plans for either stand‑alone or multi-disciplinary projects. As a technical resource, you will perform detail checks and work closely with junior staff and technicians on plan development. In this role, you may also support Project Managers with the development of fee proposals, providing direction to internal project team, on‑time submission delivery to clients, and financial monitoring of projects. Additional assignments may include supporting our regional offices on similar traffic design projects. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering 8 years' experience related to traffic planning and design Working knowledge of DOT standards, specifications, and plan preparation Computer skills using Microsoft Office, ProjectWise, HCS, Synchro, GuideSIGN, and ORD Ability to prioritize and multi‑task while working on several projects at once Preference given to local candidates Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree Experience with traffic analysis and traffic engineering/design Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license).
