Position Summary The Hydroexcavation Superintendent will lead field operations, oversee crew performance, manage equipment, and ensure that all hydroexcavation projects align with safety standards and client requirements. This position requires a hands‑on leader who can coordinate multiple projects, mentor teams, and drive operational success in a fast‑paced industrial environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily hydroexcavation operations, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Develop and execute work plans to optimize crew efficiency and resource allocation. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to ensure smooth project execution. Troubleshoot operational issues and implement process improvements. Supervise, train, and mentor hydroexcavation crews to maintain high performance and safety standards. Conduct regular team meetings to communicate expectations, job details, and safety protocols. Assist in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new hydroexcavation team members. Enforce OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and industry best practices. Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and job site evaluations. Ensure that all crew members are properly trained in hydroexcavation procedures and equipment operation. Investigate and report any safety incidents, implementing corrective actions as needed. Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and servicing of hydroexcavation trucks and equipment. Coordinate equipment logistics, repairs, and replacements to minimize downtime. Maintain an accurate inventory of tools, materials, and supplies. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding hydroexcavation services. Provide technical expertise and guidance to clients and team members. Address and resolve customer concerns, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction. Prepare job reports and documentation for internal and client use. Requirements Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in hydroexcavation, excavation, utility work, or a related field. Leadership: Proven ability to manage and develop field crews in a high-performance environment. Technical Knowledge: Extensive understanding of hydroexcavation equipment, techniques, and industry regulations. Certifications: CDL Class A or B with tanker endorsement preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift heavy equipment as needed. Problem‑Solving: Strong analytical and decision‑making skills to address on‑site challenges efficiently.
