Shift Lead LifeguardHot JobOverviewSalary Range $20.00 - $25.00 Hourly Position Type Part Time Job Shift Traditional & Non-Traditional HoursDescriptionSigning Bonus Available!Position Summary:The Lead Lifeguard, working as part of the Aquatics Team, will deliver professional customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center (part of Jewish Silicon Valley). The Lead Lifeguard will be responsible for assisting the Aquatic Director, Assistant Director, and/or Coordinator with daily operations of the aquatic department along with guarding the pool and assuring a safe and clean aquatic environment for members and guests.Areas of Responsibility:Perform pump room checks and notify Aquatics Director of any issues.Perform chemical checks as indicated.Be a good role model for other guardsBe the primary contact for any member concerns, communicate concerns to your supervisor in case follow up is needed.Be available for members at all times; work closely and communicate effectively with Aquatic Director.Assist staff with secondary dutiesHelp Aquatics Director organize and deal with the day to day programming and happenings at the poolAssist Aquatics director with in-servicesEnsure and enforce cleaning duties and schedules are adhered to in a timely mannerPerform other tasks and duties as business and management dictates.QualificationsQualifications and competencies:18 years of age or olderMinimum 2 years life guarding experience.High customer relation skillsRequired to work weekends, evenings, and holidaysAttend mandatory meetings and events, to include but not limited to; Lifeguard and In-Service Training Float Nights, Membership & Employee Appreciation Events, etc.This position is contingent upon completion and clearance of a background fingerprint assessment.Education/Special LicensesCurrent American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certificationWorking Conditions/Physical requirements:Fitness Center/Community Center environmentWork involves exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures and weather conditionsAbility to work safely both in and out of poolAbility to lift and carry 45 lbs.Ability to stand, sit, lift, bend, twistOutdoor/pool deck environmentWork in the vicinity of children and older adultsThe working conditions described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
