Principal Data Engineer - Hybrid

Salary: $150,000 - 190,000 per year Requirements:

• We bring at least 10 years of experience in data engineering or enterprise data architecture, including 5 years operating at principal or staff level
• We have proven expertise with cloud-native data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, as well as distributed systems
• We possess deep hands-on knowledge of Databricks, Spark, Kafka, Flink, and lakehouse architectures
• We have a strong background in data lineage, governance, metadata management, and streaming design patterns
• We have led large-scale data streaming and modernization efforts in enterprise environments
• We can influence executive stakeholders and provide technical guidance to senior engineers across multiple teams
• We communicate exceptionally well and can explain complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

• We define the target-state architecture for a unified, cloud-native data foundation and convert business objectives into practical roadmaps
• We architect and fine-tune real-time ingestion pipelines that can process massive event streams without data loss
• We build reusable, resilient, and scalable pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and analytics across multiple business domains
• We implement end-to-end lineage, metadata management, and governance frameworks so data remains traceable, high-quality, and reusable
• We lead the migration from legacy data platforms to modern cloud-native architectures with minimal disruption and strong scalability
• We establish engineering standards for data modeling, pipeline reliability, observability, and enterprise-level performance optimization
• We collaborate with product, backend, cloud/SRE, and AI/ML teams to support cohesive platform development
• We mentor senior engineers, encourage reusable patterns, and help foster a culture of excellence in enterprise data engineering
