If so, PMA is hiring a Project Manager to work with one of our Life Science clients in the San Francisco Bay Area. Your Role As a Project Manager, you will interface with PMA clients and project teams through a successful process of strategic real estate planning, design, and construction of new buildings, tenant improvement buildouts, and facilities assignments. Some of the ways you will support our projects include: 5+ years of experience in real estate design and construction, including large‑scale Life Sciences or Mission Critical campus projects, with deep expertise in civil engineering and site development coordination and delivery Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, Real Estate Finance, or a related field Demonstrated skills in managing successful projects and consistently meeting or exceeding client expectations and deadlines Competent review and evaluation of qualitative program aspects with the owner and verification of program conformance with project goals Establishment of partnerships and liaison between client and design and construction professionals Initiation and management of procurement of design, construction, and consultant services Drafting, reviewing, communicating, negotiating, and enforcing contractual documents for design, construction, and consultant professionals Directing and monitoring project budget and schedule, including updating and maintaining web‑based project controls Creating meaningful analysis of budgets and schedules and their effect on the financial objectives of the project Overseeing and reviewing the development of architectural and engineering construction drawings and bid documents Establishing, directing, and documenting project meetings Engaging with clients, city officials, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to present the project status and anticipate issues Anticipating potential changes to the budget or schedule and providing solutions through review and analysis of changes Organizing and reviewing value engineering alternatives with the owner Determining requirements and facilitating procurement of peer reviews and specialty consultants Motivating and directing internal resources (Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers) as required Overseeing the architect’s review of contractor and vendor onsite activities to verify contractual compliance with design specifications, schedules, and workmanship standards Authorizing the issuance of contracts, purchase orders, and developing and processing scheduled progress draw packages for payment Observing and reporting on the construction process and construction‑related issues Managing the project close‑out process to successful completion Proactively seeking networking and business development opportunities and assisting PMA leadership in project proposals and subsequent interviews Your Values and Skills Motivated self‑starter with a positive attitude High level of personal integrity and business ethics, thriving in a collaborative team environment Polished presence and excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills (high emotional intelligence) Enthusiasm and curiosity, committed to seeking creative solutions Diligence and discipline to refine options into optimal results Confidence and courage to cultivate oneself as a leader Valuing fairness as fundamental to transparency and consensus building Your Success The day‑to‑day experience at PMA promises challenge, collaboration, and growth, while a comprehensive benefits package creates opportunities for you and your family to prosper.
