About the Position

Job Title: Float Personnel RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience required License: Valid Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Previous charge nurse experience Description: Float RN for a step-down unit. Shift is from 07:00 to 19:30. Start date is as soon as possible. Patient population includes emergency room boarded, telemetry, and medical-surgical patients. This role requires flexibility to float to different units within the institution. Nurse-to-patient ratio varies from 1:4 to 1:6, depending on unit acuity. Candidates must have experience working in the United States; Canadian experience is not accepted. Candidates may need to fulfill some charge responsibilities in smaller units. Charge nurse responsibilities include managing staffing needs and bed flow. Previous charge nurse experience is required for this position. The facility is a short-term acute care hospital with a total of 325 staffed beds. Charting is conducted using an electronic medical record system. The patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support is provided by various teams including IV, physical therapy, and respiratory services. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment.
