Sign On Bonus Potential: Up to $10,000.00 Department: OPERATING ROOM Schedule - Shift - Hours: Full-time - Day shift - 6:45am-3:15pm Summary The Operating Room Technologist (ORT) functions as a scrub tech in surgical procedures, ensuring sterile instruments and supplies are prepared and maintained throughout operations. Responsibilities include supporting surgeons during procedures, anticipating surgical team needs, maintaining strict aseptic technique, handling instruments efficiently, and following hospital policies along with AORN standards to promote patient safety. The ORT also manages instrument decontamination and proper equipment care after procedures while communicating important patient or procedural information to the surgical team. The role reports to the Clinical Manager of Surgical Services and supports Carroll Hospital’s mission and SPIRIT values. Responsibilities The ORT supports surgeons during procedures, anticipates team needs, maintains aseptic technique, handles instruments efficiently, follows hospital policies and AORN standards to promote patient safety, manages instrument decontamination and equipment care after procedures, and communicates important patient or procedural information to the surgical team.
