The Clinical Manager at PAX Health is responsible for overseeing day-to-day clinical and operational functions across multiple states to ensure high-quality, efficient, and compliant service delivery.

This role provides leadership and support to Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) and clinical staff, while managing operational workflows including payroll coordination, PTO oversight, onboarding, training, recruitment, and performance management.

The Clinical Manager partners closely with Clinical and Operational Leadership to monitor multi-state KPIs, address clinical and operational challenges, support crisis management efforts, and implement process improvements that enhance patient care, staff support, and overall program performance. The Clinical Manager may also provide direct clinical services as determined by leadership and organizational needs.

On-site as business needs require, may be asked to report to any of the Company’s locations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversees day-to-day clinical and operational functions across multiple programs and states.
• Maintains a caseload of ~24 clients.
• Monitors and manages multi-state clinical and operational KPIs, productivity standards, and service delivery metrics.
• Provides leadership, guidance, and ongoing support to APNs and clinical staff to ensure quality care and operational consistency.
• Assists with crisis management, escalations, and clinical problem-solving to support both patients and staff.
• Ensures quality of care and documentation by implementing and maintaining quality assurance measures.
• Identifies operational and clinical areas for improvement and supports the implementation of new workflows, initiatives, and programs.
• Facilitates continuity of care through effective communication and coordination among clinical, operational, and administrative teams.
• Oversees onboarding and training initiatives for new hires to support successful integration and performance.
• Participates in interviewing, hiring, and staff selection processes in collaboration with leadership and People & Culture.
• Supervises staff performance, provides coaching and mentorship, and contributes to performance evaluations and employment recommendations.
• Supports operational functions including payroll coordination, PTO management, scheduling oversight, and staffing support.
• Maintains compliance with agency policies, regulatory standards, documentation requirements, and the State Mental Health Code.
• Participates in agency committees, meetings, and cross-functional initiatives as needed.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

• Other duties as needed within the scope of the role.

• Master’s degree in Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, or a related mental health discipline required; active Advanced Practice Nurse (APN/PMHNP) licensure required. Multi-state licensure preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical leadership, supervisory, or management experience within behavioral health, psychiatric services, or healthcare operations preferred.
• Demonstrated clinical proficiency in crisis intervention, psychiatric assessment, and supporting individuals experiencing acute mental health distress.
• Strong leadership skills with experience supervising, mentoring, and supporting clinical and/or operational staff.
• Experience overseeing multi-site or multi-state clinical operations preferred.
• Strong understanding of operational workflows including scheduling, payroll coordination, onboarding, and staff management.
• Ability to analyze KPIs, operational trends, and performance metrics to support organizational goals and decision-making.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to function effectively within a fast-paced, collaborative behavioral health environment.
• Knowledge of healthcare systems, community resources, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Flexibility with scheduling and ability to support operational needs as required.
