Why This Job - Project Manager

Our client is expanding into Utah after establishing itself as one of Montana's premier luxury custom home builders. This Project Manager will play a foundational role in leading the company's first luxury residential projects throughout the Salt Lake City and Wasatch Front market while helping establish its long-term presence in Utah.

This role goes well beyond traditional project management. You'll own project budgets, schedules, estimating, forecasting, and client communication from preconstruction through completion while helping develop the company's subcontractor network, supplier relationships, and operating standards in a brand-new market. You'll work closely with Superintendents, architects, designers, owners, and executive leadership to deliver complex custom homes while building the relationships that will support future growth.

One of the things that makes this opportunity unique is the level of autonomy. Because this is a new market, you'll have the opportunity to influence how projects are delivered, establish preferred trade partners, and become a trusted representative of the company throughout the Utah luxury residential community.

The work itself is equally rewarding. These aren't production homes built from static plans. Every project is unique, requiring collaboration, creative problem solving, and the ability to adapt as designs evolve throughout construction. Leadership is looking for someone who understands constructability, communicates proactively, and enjoys solving complex challenges alongside owners, architects, and field teams.

If you're looking for the opportunity to help establish a respected luxury builder in a new market while managing some of Utah's highest-end residential projects, this is a rare opportunity to make a lasting impact.

What You'll Actually Do:

  • Lead luxury custom residential projects from preconstruction through final completion, owning budgets, schedules, estimating, forecasting, and overall project performance.
  • Build and develop the client's Utah network of subcontractors, suppliers, architects, designers, and trade partners while establishing preferred vendor relationships.
  • Develop project budgets, maintain cost-to-complete forecasts, manage change orders, and proactively communicate budget and schedule updates.
  • Partner closely with Superintendents to coordinate field operations, subcontractor performance, quality, and project execution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, designers, consultants, and other project stakeholders throughout construction.
  • Lead owner, architect, and contractor meetings while maintaining strong communication across all project partners.
  • Conduct quarterly project reviews with leadership covering budget performance, scheduling, project health, and lessons learned.
  • Help establish scalable project management processes and operating standards that will support the client's continued expansion throughout Utah.

What You Bring:

  • 8+ years of construction project management experience.
  • Experience managing high-end custom residential projects, ideally in the $5M-$10M+ range.
  • Strong experience with estimating, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and owner communication.
  • Existing relationships within the Salt Lake City or Wasatch Front subcontractor, supplier, or design community are highly preferred.
  • Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software.
  • A professional, relationship-driven leadership style with strong communication skills, business acumen, and the ability to work independently in a growing market.

Location: Salt Lake City, UT, with projects throughout the greater Salt Lake and Wasatch Front area.

Compensation: From $130K base salary with discretionary bonus.
