Medical Technician

Job TitleMedical TechnicianJob DescriptionMajor duties include but are not limited to:Receives request for testing into the laboratory.Recognizes emergency situations and takes necessary action.Perform a range of diagnostic support studies such as taking and labeling specimens for the laboratory.Adheres to safety, infection control, and universal precautions at all times while drawing blood.Explains procedures to patients prior to performing.Receives and relays incoming telephone calls as well as electronic messages.Maintains the blood drawing room, including the replacement of supplies as needed.Assists clinicians when needed by performing (but not limited to) EKG's.Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms and prepares for next patient encounters if assigned area requires it.Work Schedule: 8am - 4:30pm, Monday through FridayTelework: This position may be authorized for telework. Ad-hoc.Virtual: This is not a virtual position.Position Description/PD#: Medical Technician / PD06097ARelocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not authorizedCritical Skills Incentive (CSI): Not approved
