Plum Grove Inc., a growing print marketing agency, is seeking a Shipping Clerk for a full-time, first-shift opportunity in its Cary, IL headquarters. The Shipping Clerk performs a wide variety of pick and pack activities including shipping and receiving, managing deadlines, and performing data entry for record keeping. The position requires a driven and organized team player for efficient shipping operations and to ensure jobs are on time. Key Job Activities All aspects of shipping / receiving / inventory (packaging, shipping methods, computer operations, shipping company forms, and procedures) Manage all packing of items through shipping via UPS, FedEx, USPS, LTL, and others. Assure compliance with purchase order requests and requirements from customer base. Comply with all quality assurance procedures and document item counts prior to shipping. Report any discrepancies (packaging, condition of items, counts, paperwork, materials, etc.) Expedite transfer of paperwork to and from the front office and coordinate shipping of jobs in a timely manner. Verify correct items with correct paperwork and confirm correct shipping address is on packing slip and on shipping label before any items are shipped. Verify company Purchase Orders to material received. Requirements Requirements Shift is Monday through Friday 7:00am – 4:00pm (flexible). The position routinely interacts with customer support, office personnel, production staff, vendors, and external resources. Limited after-hours communication may be required. Skills Computer skills; Accurate data entry and knowledge of office programs, ex. Word, Outlook, etc. Familiarity of ShipStation a plus Able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize workload Work well under pressure to meet deadlines Able to work independently Strong eye for detail and accuracy Physical Requirements Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, kneel, crawl, talk, and hear Reach with hands and arms Use computer and possess visual acuity essential to examine and prepare documents Experience & Education Any experience in a shipping and receiving or order pulling position is a plus High school diploma or equivalent required Benefits Salary & Benefits Hourly rate $17-$20/hour commensurate with experience. First shift with flexibility.
